USTA TENNIS PROGRAM

Camp Cayuga operates a top quality Tennis Program under the directorship of a USTA Tennis Professional. Cayuga is a proud member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Our Tennis Program meets the standards and follows the guidelines set forth by the USTA, as well as the ACA.

INSTRUCTION & PRIVATE LESSONS
Tennis lessons from beginner to advanced skill levels are offered daily. Our instructors are assigned between 2 to 5 campers per lesson. The activity period includes a mix of instructional time and recreational time. For the more serious tennis player, one-on-one private lessons are available with our Tennis Pro or one of his qualified assistants. The Private Tennis Lesson Program is voluntary and not part of the normal activity program. Advance registration is required. TENNIS CENTER
Cayuga's Tennis Center features 10 hard-surfaced courts that are in excellent condition. Top quality racquets are provided, as well as ball machines for assisting with instruction. (You can bring your own tennis racket if you prefer.)

STAFF
Cayuga's Tennis Program is directed by Joe Manning, who has been a High School Head Tennis Coach for over 20 years. Joe received the Coach of the Year award 3 times in Arkansas. As a player, he was ranked in the USTA at top positions on the state level for singles & doubles. In Texas he was ranked #3 in 4.0 singles and #2 in doubles. Joe has been Cayuga's USTA Tennis Pro since 2001. Cayuga's tennis staff is comprised of 8 to 10 instructors who provide top-notch instruction under the guidance of our Tennis Pro. All instructors are university-level players who have experience teaching tennis to children. Prior to the arrival of our campers, the tennis instructors are trained, evaluated, and qualified by our Tennis Pro.

INTERCAMP TENNIS MATCHES
If you're a tennis competitor, you'll be happy to learn that Cayuga's Tennis Team travels to neighboring camps to compete in Intercamp Tennis Matches at various skill levels. All campers are eligible to join the Tennis Team, since there are no try-outs! You can also compete in Tennis Matches without leaving camp. You can play against your Cayuga friends on a regular basis by participating in Cayuga's Round-Robin Tournaments. These Tournaments and Intercamp Tennis Matches are voluntary. If you want to compete, all you have to do is sign-up at camp.
