ENROLLMENT DETAILS

JUNIOR CAMPUS: Our camper population on Junior Campus is approximately 120 boys and 120 girls. Campers entering 1st through 7th grade, as well as campers entering 8th grade (who are 12 years old) reside on Junior Campus. Note: Campers entering 8th grade who are 13 years old before arriving at camp have the option to reside on either Junior Campus or Teen Campus. Click here for details about Junior Campus.

TEEN CAMPUS: Our camper population on Teen Campus is approximately 75 boys and 75 girls. Campers entering 10th, 9th, or 8th grade, who are 13 years old or older (before arriving at camp) reside on Teen Campus. Note: Campers entering 8th grade who are 13 years old have the option to reside on either Campus. Teen Campus is reserved exclusively for teens! The Teen Campus Program is geared to teenagers and provides special teen privileges. Click here for details about Teen Campus.

DIVERSE CAMPER POPULATION: Each summer campers travel to Camp Cayuga from across the United States and from abroad as well. Most of our campers are from the metropolitan areas of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Virginia. At the same time, we still continue to have a diverse camper population who last summer traveled from 26 states, including: Florida, Texas, California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Washington DC, Delaware, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, to name a few. We also welcome international children into our summer program, who last summer traveled from 17 countries, some of which include: Spain, France, Switzerland, Venezuela, Japan, Dominican Republic, United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, Monaco, and Thailand. It's really interesting to watch these international youngsters as they learn the English language and experience the American culture from their cabinmates. The value of such an exchange can't be underestimated. This is one of the benefits of Cayuga's unique diverse camper population!

CAMP SESSIONS: Camp Cayuga offers a variety of sessions ranging from 12 days to 54 days, including: Full-Season (54 days), Six-Week Session (41 days), Half Sessions (27 days), and 2-Week Mini-Sessions (12 to 14 days). Cayuga's summer program is designed with the full-season camper in mind. Diversity and nonrepetition of the program are two guidelines we use in planning the summer's schedule of events.

SESSION EXTENSIONS: It is not uncommon for campers to request an extension. We consider this a compliment to our staff and our program. As long as space is available, we'll be happy to process your child's session extension. If your child informs us at camp that he/she would like to stay longer than his/her original session, we'll contact you for your approval. In the event of an extension, the tuition for the "actual session" attended will apply. For example, if the first-half session is extended to the 6-week session, the 6-week session fee is charged (not the first-half fee plus the third 2-week fee.) The "discount rate" for the new session (which was offered at the time you originally enrolled) will be retroactively applied! In addition, Sibling Credits will increase depending upon the length of the extension. If you "anticipate" a session extension prior to camp, please let us know. We will take this "possible" session extension into consideration when assigning your child his/her cabin.

LAUNDRY SERVICE: The canteen fee includes a weekly laundering of your camper's clothing and linens. It takes two days for the laundry to be washed and returned. All clothing and gear needs to be marked for identification purposes. In addition, Cayuga offers an optional Linen Rental Service which includes blankets, sheets, and pillowcases. Click here for more information about the Linen Rental Service.

CAMP UNIFORM: The camp uniform is worn on camp trips, Visiting Days, and during intercamp tournaments. There is no "daily" uniform. The camp uniform consists of a red Cayuga t-shirt and black shorts. Campers are given one red Cayuga t-shirt on arrival day, or shortly thereafter. This t-shirt is included in the canteen fee. Campers are required to bring two additional solid red t-shirts (Cayuga red t-shirts) and two pair of black shorts. Red Cayuga t-shirts and black shorts are available for purchase at the canteen. Purchase is not required.

CLOTHING LIST GUIDE: Our campers and staff members dress comfortably in shorts and a t-shirt. The camp's style is down-to-earth, and high-fashion is de-emphasized. Our clothing list is a general guide for articles the average child will need at camp based on a 9-day rotation. That is, the camp laundry is picked-up once a week and returned in 2 days. For the most part, it makes no difference how long the camper is enrolled in camp. Clothing can be brought to camp in soft or hard trunks, duffel bags, and/or suitcases. Click here for a printable version of our Recommended Clothing List.

CAMP EQUIPMENT: Camp Cayuga provides the equipment and gear for most activities, such as top quality tennis rackets, certified helmets (except for lacrosse), fishing poles, shin guards, diabolos & devil sticks (for circus arts), etc. Please refer to Cayuga's recommended clothing list for exceptions requiring campers to bring their own equipment.
