CAMP CAYUGA SKI REUNION
A TRADITION AT CAYUGA
The Annual Ski Reunion is a tradition at Camp Cayuga and a special event we all look forward to each winter. For the past 30+ years, we've sponsored a Winter Ski Reunion for our campers and staff. It's a great opportunity to get together with your camp friends, and to top-it-off, we get to ski together. Cayuga's Ski Reunion is a lot of fun... it's almost like summer camp, except for the snow! The Annual Camp Cayuga Ski Reunion is open to Cayuga campers from last summer, new Cayuga campers enrolled for next summer, as well as your siblings, friends, and parents.
ALPINE MOUNTAIN SKI AREA
Cayuga's Ski Reunion in recent years has been held at Alpine Mountain Ski Area, which is located in the Pocono Mountains in Analomink, Pennsylvania (15 miles from the Delaware River toll booth on Route 80). Alpine Mountain an ideal place to ski and renew your summer camp friendships! It's a low-key ski area with a family atmosphere and it provides a comfortable environment for our campers to learn to ski and snowboard. Alpine Mountain isn't as big and crowded like the other Pocono ski areas, so you won't need a trail map to find your way back to the main base lodge! FEATURES OF ALPINE MOUNTAIN
Alpine Mountain Ski Area Alpine features 21 trails with 100% snow making, 3 chairlifts, and a 500 foot vertical drop. Most of the trails cater to beginner skiers. It also features a challenging SnowBoard Park that includes a big 1/2 pipe, 1/4 pipes, doubles, spines, hips, table tops, and step-ups. In addition, Alpine Mountain has a separate SnowTubing Park which includes 6 snow-tubing chutes and 2 snowtubing lifts. By the way, if you have a little sister or brother who wants to join you at this year's Ski Reunion (your entire family is invited), let him/her know that Alpine Mountain has a special area just for youngsters who are under 42" tall - it's called The Penguin Play Park. If you're interested in taking a group or private lesson, you'll be happy to learn that Alpine's experienced ski school staff have been teaching kids and adults how to ski (and snowboard) for over 25 years!
TENTATIVE TIME SCHEDULE
9:00am: Ski Reunion begins (you can arrive with an adult anytime after
9:00am)
9:00am: Party Room in main lodge opens (snacks & refreshments available
throughout the day)
12:30pm to 2:00pm: Free Pizza Party for lunch (lucky lotto prizes
awarded)
5:00pm: Trophy Presentation (trophies awarded to ski race winners)
5:30pm: Ski Reunion ends (you can depart earlier if necessary)
6:00pm: Your "day" lift ticket expires.
SUPERVISION
All campers to be accompanied to the Ski Reunion by a parent or guardian/adult, who will remain at the ski area for the duration of the Reunion. Camp Cayuga's staff will be located on the slopes and in the "Party Room" all day. No transportation service is provided by the camp to Alpine Mountain.
SKI REUNION REGISTRATION FORM
All individuals attending the reunion must complete a Cayuga Ski Reunion Registration Form. This form will be accessible on-line 2 months prior to the event. All participants will have several ski & snowboard packages to choose from and will receive a special discount rate available to Cayuga participants only. By the way, you don't have to "hit the slopes" to attend Cayuga's Reunion. It's OK if you just want to hang-out for the day with your camp friends, watch Cayuga's DVD yearbook, and enjoy our pizza & refreshments in the Party Room during lunch time.
REUNION DATE TO BE DETERMINED
As soon as we determine the date for this year's Ski Reunion, we'll post all of the details here on Cayuga's website. Information pertaining to the reunion will
be included in our November & December Newsletters, and all campers will be emailed a short reminder about the details. Until then, you can safely assume that the Cayuga Ski Reunion will take place at Alpine Mountain on a Saturday (or possibly Sunday) sometime in the month of January.
