MORE TRIPS AT CAMP CAYUGA!

RAFTING TRIPS

Rafting Trips take place on the scenic Delaware River in northern Wayne County. These trips are really exciting and the natural surroundings are beautiful. The Delaware River is only 45 minutes from camp. To be eligible to participate, you must pass Cayuga’s deep water swim test and boating test to prove you’re a good swimmer and know how to properly paddle a raft. The trip director will review the river safety rules and trip procedures prior to departing camp. To attend this trip, simply tell your division director or sign-up during the elective sign-up period in the morning. Advance registration is not necessary. Rafting trips are not included in the tuition. We schedule a minimum of one trip every two weeks. For trip dates, go to Calendar of Events.

    GOLF COURSE TRIPS

Take a break from your camp activities, and play a round of golf this summer. Cricket Hill Golf Course is a small 18-hole public course that is located only 30 minutes from camp. All campers are eligible to attend this trip, as long as they are deemed qualified to play on a public course. One staff member is assigned to each foursome. Cayuga provides the equipment, including your clubs, bag and balls. To attend this trip, simply tell your division director or sign-up during the elective sign-up period in the morning. Advance registration is not necessary. Golf course trips are optional and not included in the tuition. We schedule a minimum of one trip every two weeks. For golf course trip dates, go to Calendar of Events. Keep in mind that golf instruction is offered daily at camp inside netted golf cages.

    THEATRE TRIPS

Do you enjoy going to the theatre? You can continue that theatrical experience this summer at Cayuga. Trips are scheduled every two weeks to the Forestburgh Playhouse, which has earned a fine reputation for its youth theatre productions. Their plays include ‘the classics’, which have proven to be very popular with our campers. Forestburgh Playhouse was founded in 1947 and is the oldest continuously operating summer theatre in New York. It is located less than an hour drive from camp. To attend a theatre production, tell your division director or sign-up during the elective sign-up period in the morning. Advance registration is not necessary. Theatre trips are optional and not included in the tuition. For playhouse trip dates, go to Calendar of Events.

      SUPERVISON ON CAMP TRIPS

All Cayuga staff members receive training in off-camp trip procedures, general transportation safety regulations, emergency accident & medical procedures, group management procedures, and have familiarized themselves with Cayuga’s emergency communication plan. Cayuga follows the guidelines set forth by the American Camping Association (ACA) and has exceeded their standards on every inspection. We are committed to the highest safety standards established for the camping industry, and are proud to operate an accredited ACA camp. Safety is #1 at Camp Cayuga!
